Coyote Bluff Cafe, Amarillo, TX – Greg and Amy Myers' Blog

This was a road trip, but if we were flying, we would have landed at Tradewind.

Rating: 5 Prop

Back to West Texas!!   It is growing on me??  The large canyons, the flat landscape, the colorful sunsets??  It seems to be a place I enjoy traveling too.

This visit was by invitation!   Our youngest son, Kaden, joined a harvest crew, Leavitt Harvesting, from Wildorado, just west of Amarillo.  They finished cutting wheat, and asked Kaden to stay on the rest of the summer.  They said they could keep him plenty busy, and he is loving everything about the experience.

The family invited Greg and I to the Texas Show in the Palo Duro Canyon.  I jumped at the chance to visit Kaden!  Not having my PPL and Greg having a full schedule at work, I decided a road trip was in order.

So although I didn't fly...the trip was amazing, and Kaden and I found a terrific burger place.

So let's start with the Texas Show.  It was an entertaining musical about Texas life in the early 1900s.  The talent is strong and the setting, theatrics, and atmosphere are really good.  Greg was sad he missed it, and I already promised him we would go back sometime.

Now, for Coyote Bluff Cafe.  All I can say is YES PLEASE.  It is exactly the "dive" I love.  We showed up at 2:15 in the afternoon, and we got the last empty table.   That right there says it all!!  The place was packed.  The waitresses were friendly and seemed to have orchestrated a perfect tag teamof helping each other out.  It was fun just watching the hustle and busy.

Kaden and I eyed the hamburgers and cheese fries and agreed the portion size would be big enough to share (by the way, he is a 17 year old growing boy...the portions are big).

Since this wasn't my usual burger visit...I totally forgot to take a before pic...my bad!  But no worries...I will update this post when Greg and I return.  There were be a next time!!

Year after year, Coyote Bluff wins best place to take out of towners.  It isn't fancy, but it is delicious!!   Quite honestly...that is the only that matters.

To top it off...I got to spend lots of time listening to Kaden's hopes and dreams for his future.  This kid never ceases to amaze me.  He has a heart of GOLD and a lot of ambition.  To know him is to LOVE him!

Have a great day!!
